Downtown Loft Master Bathroom Revival

This condo in downtown Greenville serves as a vacation home, one block away from everything that's happening on beautiful Main Street. For this Master Bathroom, we embraced the industrial cues of the bedroom- brick walls and huge factory windows- and ran with it. We custom designed the vanity to look like a repurposed piece of furniture, but more importantly, the eye being able to see the floor underneath helps make the room feel larger, as does the reflective tile. We leaned into the "downtown loft" theme as we chose materials and fixtures. It is now so fresh, urban, and chic.

Gorgeous Outdoor Living Space Addition

The 900 sq ft second-story addition lacks nothing- gorgeous and unfettered lake views with extra wide railings on which to set your favorite beverage, a gas-started wood-burning fireplace with a reclaimed wood mantle, outdoor kitchen with a gas grill, maintenance-free composite decking, tongue and groove ceilings, skylights, recessed lighting, and windows and doors galore! We also converted a previous laundry room into a beautiful office and pantry with stunning outdoor views.

Budget-Friendly Mid-Century Home Remodel

A very colonial kitchen got a new style and a major facelift on a budget by refinishing existing cabinetry, replacing doors, adding a sleek wall of pantry cabinets, and hardware and backsplash replacements.
In addition an awkward cluster of small closets, tiny bathroom, and laundry closet all in one space was gutted and redesigned to make a large boy's and guest bathroom, ample storage, and a laundry space that was a little more out of the way.

Masculine Meets Farmhouse Master Suite Addition

While designing this master suite addition, it became clear that these clients wanted a little bit of masculine. A little bit of farmhouse. A little bit of rustic. A luxurious bathroom. A lot of low maintenance (nothing white in the bathroom!). All of these things don't normally go together, but we blended the elements of each into a very relaxing and practical space.

Exterior Modern Makeover

This home in Mauldin used to be known as one of the ugliest in the neighborhood. Built in the 1980's, it had no identity. It was painted a dull beige with maroon trim. We leaned it a little mid-century modern and now it's full of character.

This kitchen was rustic and dark in a home tucked in to the foothills of the Carolina mountains. We leaned in to a modern cottage look that contrasts beautifully with the surrounding foliage.

Historic Greenville Indoor Outdoor Room

The new owner of this 1920's home in Historic Greenville SC brought us in to find out how we could take a dark back bedroom at the end of a narrow hallway and open it up a little to the screened porch for entertaining. She had french doors in mind, but we proposed taking it to a whole new level. We removed the wall between the bedroom and hallway, and the back wall of the house. We installed Panoramic Doors so that the indoors and outdoors blend into one space. Duo Designs worked with the client to design the bar and we made it happen.

From Drab to Fab: Kitchen Renovation

What a TRANSFORMATION!! This kitchen used to feel so dark, disjointed, and cold all at the same time. Not anymore. We tied the whole space together by adding a peninsula that doubled as built-in dining seating that wraps around the bay window overlooking beautiful pastures in the country.

Wellford Kitchen

We took a living space from 1969 to 2022! This house was so dark, with aged linoleum floors, brown appliances, popcorn ceilings, unusable spaces, and a wall dividing the kitchen from the rest of the house. We incorporated gold fixtures, marble backsplash, and beautifully veined quartz after we opened it up, installed better lighting, scraped ceilings and replaced flooring.

A bulky garden tub and small dark shower were replaced with a bright and luxurious shower for two.

Liberty Country Kitchen

Who says country can't be chic! This kitchen was personalized with colored cabinets, custom backsplash and ample floating shelves for storage galore! 

Drunk Monkeys Powder Room

This client showed us her plain powder room and handed us a sample of the wallpaper she had fallen in love with-- a comical mural of monkeys misbehaving. She asked what else we could do to really make the bathroom unique. We installed wainscoting to give a sophisticated compliment to the funky wallpaper, and installed a sheet of copper that we had "aged" behind the vanity that the client had already designed.

Another bathroom that we took from drab to fab! Clean lines emphasize the shapes of the custom tile throughout. A floating vanity with flat panel cabinets complete the modern look!

This client wanted soft light and a little luxury in the master bathroom of her newly purchased 1920's home. We gutted blocky features from the 1990's, opened up the shower walls, repaired water damage, leveled floors, and transformed the space into a luxurious master bath.

New Office Transformation: Work from Home in Style & Comfort

This couple on Lake Hartwell felt like this grilling area on their wrap-around patio was a waste of space, and they needed separate offices. The husband is a life coach and thought it would be nice to be able to bring clients into his office without bringing them into the home. They are a very naturally-minded couple, and we could tell that they would want some bright, clean, but also earthy features. He also loved the idea of a lake view. We raised the floor, and removed some wall to open it up to the adjoining bathroom. Cosmetically, we left all the interior stucco, painting over it and the sheetrock in ultra white, and brought in a lot of natural textures with rough-hewn wood shiplap and framing. We installed an awning window so that he can open his window during ideal weather without the threat of rain blowing in. We closed it in with tall french doors that match the rest of the home's exterior. We installed a "mini-split" for heat and air, and finished the exterior with more rough-cut wood that will age well and show even more character than it does now. What an inviting space to work on your life!

The Pole Barn In-Law Suite

This family has a sweet 90-yr old momma who needed to come live with them on their ranch instead of living in a different state, but didn't have room in their small rancher. They had someone build a metal-framed pole barn on a slab, had electricity and water run to it, and then brought us in to frame in and finish it all. We made sure we made every accommodation for a wheel chair or walker if that is ever needed. It is sweet, simple, and everything she needed to live independently but just a house away from her son and daughter-in-law.

Kitchen Remodel on a Tight Budget

Welcome to this "When Life Gives You Lemons" story (no pun intended on the paint color, although fitting). This young family had an unseen dishwasher leak for a very long time that led to subfloor and cabinet damage. Of course, with the outdated cabinets and counter top, there was no way to repair/ replace just a section of it. It was one of those surprises no one wants, especially when your insurance company says "it's not covered" and you were planning on selling soon anyway. One little leak and you have a full kitchen renovation ahead of you. But, we gave them a very reasonable price, coached them on how to buy all their own materials so they could finance them or just keep them as economical as they could, and once the cabinets were in, got it done from floor to ceiling in 5 days. Well, the counters will be installed next week directly from the mfg, of course. It's now a nice, fresh-feeling place to sip on some cold lemonade.
